Bakery Department Manager for Garafalo Markets LLC dba ShopRite Supermarket

This opportunity is for a qualified individual to manage sales, production and associates at one of our locations in New Haven county, CT and Hartford county, CT. Our bakeries are 55%-60% scratch mix and slap and bake making up the remainder.


Our bakery departments average sales are 1.05 million.


For the ideal candidate to be successful, a minimum of 4-5 years bakery management is required. Must be experienced in mixing, baking, finishing of all bakery items inclusive of donuts, bagels, rolls, breads, cakes, pastries and doughs. Must be proficient in bakery management, communication, engagement and leadership. 


Salary range from $50,000 to $60,000 base salary. Premium for 6th day and holidays. Competitive benefits for medical, dental, vision and 401-K. Company paid life and long-term disability. Paid vacation and PTO time.

Test Baker / Demonstrator – Job Posting 

Celebrating 75 years, RONDO is a world-leading supplier of dough sheeting and shaping machinery solutions to the bakery industry. Headquartered in Switzerland, with additional factories in Italy and France; equipment is sold and serviced to North America customers through RONDO Inc. located in Moonachie, NJ. with its 32,000 square foot facility including 8,000 square foot test bakery Dough-how Center.

Due to tremendous growth, RONDO is looking to add a Test Baker/Demonstrator to the US-based team.

The chosen candidate will receive an excellent benefits package, compensation package including annual bonus based on company performance, and a great & collaborative work environment. 

Responsibilities

a) Demonstrate showroom machines to prospective buyers.

b) Install and demonstrate equipment at customer’s location.

c) Test new machines to determine their application in our markets; also determine their limitations and put together sales arguments.

d) Support RONDO sales staff with dough technology and machine applications.

e) Keep all equipment in showrooms clean and in proper running condition.

f) Keep an adequate supply of ingredients on hand for showroom use. Rotating inventory as required.

g) Build up and maintain a recipe library.

h) Provide detailed demonstration reports for all in-house and in the field demonstrations.

i) Participate at trade shows.

j) Remote and in-person support of customers regarding application of machines. 

Requirements

Minimum education: High school diploma.

• Minimum 2 years experience in a bakery environment or bakery trade-school

• Knowledge of reversible dough sheeters is a plus.

• Driver’s License is required.

• Ability for overnight travel: 50% domestically and occasionally international.
